Steve Gilbert explores the idea of extending the Seven Principles of Good Practice in Undergraduate Education with the authors of the original work on this subject, Arthur W Chickering and Zelda F. Gamson. He will also be joined by Steve Ehrmann, who extended these concepts into the world of technology through his 1996 work "Implementing the Seven Principles: Technology as Lever."

We do not propose to extend those Principles formally. However, we encourage thought and discussion about what might usefully be added. We hope to accumulate and organize a useful collection a variety of these "8th Principles."
