Description In this two part event we will introduce some first online steps and explore what it means to flip a classroom, pros & cons of this approach, various model courses and instructional design considerations. We will use and demonstrate our commitment to essential elements of Flipped/Blended Models - through our preparatory and follow-up assignments and online activities. Participants can develop their own flipped classroom tool kits and learn how to decide which content to allocate to outside-of-class and which complementary and supplementary activities to include within course meetings. We’ll identify important combinations of strategies, and technologies - some old, some new - and look past superficial differences to the underlying core of lasting principles that continue to guide our efforts to improve teaching/learning. In other words, we will begin to peel the onion of blended, flipped approaches to reveal the essentials - the elusive obvious. Prep for Part I
