Description:
Goal: Introduce, discuss, recommend approaches and resources for Web-based faculty/professional development in higher education.
How can we provide more options (and fewer constraints?) to enable more people to participate in ways they find less burdensome and more helpful?
Part I Structure & Issues: How can we "untether" much traditionally face-to-face, campus-based professional development?
What are realistic goals for "untethering" faculty/professional development?
How can we reduce constraints on place and time without eliminating valuable options? Without increasing workload for staff and faculty? Without increasing other costs? What are those "valuable options"? For whom? I.e.,
Part II Resources & Recommendations
What resources are already available but under-utilized?(e.g., "Compassionate Pioneers") What effective practices are emerging from recent "webinars"?
