This symposium will include results of a Flashlight Online 2.0 survey about the current state of Faculty Development and specifically about Frugal Innovation.
Audience - People who are interested in and/or have some responsibility for helping faculty members to improve teaching and learning with technology. This includes both faculty members who have this kind of interest and responsibility as well as academic professionals who are at least partly responsible for helping and supporting faculty members. People who are interested in ideas for improving teaching and learning with technology more broadly.Teaching to fish.... instead of giving a fish ... applied to faculty developments.Steve Gilbert, President of the TLT Group and Director of the Online Institute, will serve as co-facilitator withSteve Ehrmann, Vice President of the TLT Group and Director of the Flashlight Program.
All of the TLT Group’s online offerings includeuse of “low threshold” tools, examination of controversial issues, options for participants with a range of experience, and suggestions for assessment as you integrate what you’ve learned into your repertoire.
Participants for this workshop should sign-in 15 minutes early for tech instructions and to meet others in the group; they also have the option of remaining online for a half-hour follow-up discussion immediately after the workshop.
